Things I forgot about having a baby...
How one outfit is always a magnet for poop explosions, like it's cursed.
suddenly you get wrinkles, but they are the most beautiful sign that life is wonderfully chaotic.
That little sigh that happens around 5 minutes after your baby has gone to sleep. Its a sigh that releases all the pent up adrenaline that they have been holding onto. This is what you need to wait for if you want to put your bebe into a bassinet or bed because if you do it any earlier, they aren't asleep enough and will just wake up.
If you're putting your baby into bed asleep. Lay them on their side first then roll them to their back, they won't wake up as easily in the transfer.
The way the back of their little head looks and their backs are so cute. Seriously turn your newborn around naked and just observe how precious they are!
Breastfeeding is harder than I ever could have known but then one day it all clicks and you have these weird stretchy nipples. Kind of like wearing in a new pair of shoes and getting blisters that toughen up your feet, the same kind of thing happens with breastfeeding.
Babies are soooo noisy when they sleep!
How quickly everything happens, with my second I got to live in it all knowing it's all temporary, but first time around it felt like everything was going to last forever. It was so daunting but just know that it actually goes way too quickly and all of a sudden you're celebrating their first birthday.
As I transition from the newborn period and onto having an infant, I'll update on other things I forgot! Let me know what things you forgot or if anything on this list is something you can relate to!?
