Sizing and TOG Ratings
Here at Tuckered Out, we’ve simplified the process of choosing the correct size and TOG rating for your little one’s sleeping bag to ensure it keeps them safe and snug. There are 2 bag sizes and 3 TOG ratings to select from. And we’re always here to help if you have any questions.
Our sizes are:
Tip: measure from the shoulder to foot!
1 - 70cm - To fit approximately 4 to 12 months - up to 10 kg
2 - 90cm - To fit approximately 9 to 24 months - up to 13kg
The length of the bag is from shoulder to foot length.
Please note that the 2.5 TOG sleeping bag is bulkier, resulting in a slightly tighter fit.
Warmth Ratings:
• 0.5 TOG = 24 degrees Cº+
• 1.0 TOG = 21 degrees Cº – 24 degrees Cº
• 2.5 TOG = 17 degrees Cº – 23 degrees Cº
Please remember these ratings are only a guide. Each baby is unique, so always assess your baby to ensure they aren't overheating or too cold. Red Nose has a great article on this – read more here. We also love the Snug as a Bub app, which informs you of the recommended layering for the baby based on room temperature.
You will start to learn over time what your baby needs to wear to bed. However, to be safe, always check your baby’s temperature by using either a thermometer or by feeling your baby’s chest/back of their neck to make sure they’re not sweaty or overheating.
Our TOG ratings are approximate as they have not been tested in Australia for this rating.
